Trump just admitted that his conversation with McCarthy took place just as Herrera Butler described

WOW.

Nicely played, Congressman Raskin. Beautifully done.

They're calling Congresswoman Herrerra Butler as a witness!

I hadn't thought of that. We were all focusing on McCarthy, Pence, etc. and I thought that would be a mistake.

But this is narrow, clean, precise - and she will be a friendly witness, they can prepare her in advance without any surprises.

Brilliant call!

MSNBC: McConnell will vote to acquit

The House Managers have convinced all of the Republicans it's possible to convince

And nothing else they do, say, or produce at this point will change any more minds. Any Republican open to voting guilty already heard enough to convince them. But the vast majority of Republican Senators are stuck in place and wouldn't vote to convict even if Jesus Christ walked into the chamber and showed a video of Trump confessing to inciting a riot.

The House Managers have done all they can and more. But I think we're at a hard stop on impeachment at this point.

But remember, when this started, no one expected a conviction. And many didn't think there'd even been an impeachment at all. But not only has there been an impeachment, it was handled magnificently and brilliantly and, the stalwart and united Democrats have set the stage for the more complex and more impactful next phase of criminal investigations and prosecutions.

And, perhaps more important, they've laid the groundwork, framed the issues, and shaped the narrative for the first draft of history, which, like the vast, bipartisan majority of Congress, will forever condemn Trump as a disgraced, craven criminal.

BREAKING: New details about Trump-McCarthy shouting match show Trump refused to call off the rioters

In an expletive-laced phone call with House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy while the Capitol was under attack, then-President Donald Trump said the rioters cared more about the election results than McCarthy did.

"Well, Kevin, I guess these people are more upset about the election than you are," Trump said, according to lawmakers who were briefed on the call afterward by McCarthy.

McCarthy insisted that the rioters were Trump's supporters and begged Trump to call them off.

Trump's comment set off what Republican lawmakers familiar with the call described as a shouting match between the two men. A furious McCarthy told the President the rioters were breaking into his office through the windows, and asked Trump, "Who the f--k do you think you are talking to?" according to a Republican lawmaker familiar with the call.

LOL. They cited a case involving a civil right icon WHO WAS A FRIEND OF RANKIN'S

And Rankin set them straight and only used up about 45 seconds ...

I don't think the Q&A is going well for the Trump team. What say y'all?

Stacey Plaskett just took the entire process to another level

Her calling out Trump's defense lawyers for their racist videos depicting black women fighting for justice will go down in history.

Collins and Mutkowski just nailed Trump's attorneys with a "When did he know and what did he do"

question.

And his attorneys are actually claiming that the House managers didn't tell them, so they don't know.

Wow.

A conviction may be more possible than many think it is

Not that it's definite or even likely. But the fact that Republican senators are going out of their way to collude with the defense attorneys suggests that they're worried - otherwise, if a conviction isn't a possibility, why bother? They could just let everything unfold knowing there weren't the votes to convict.

They may know something going in their caucus that we're not aware of - and may be worried that they could lose more than 17 of their colleagues unless they pull out all the stops.
