Amy Coney Barrett holds a court seat stolen from a black woman

The GOP turned her circuit court into an all-white bastion - the court that covers Chicago no longer has any black judges.

Breaking: NYTimes has gotten ahold of Trump's tax returns.

And they're as bad as we thought.

No wonder he's been fighting so hard

Trump’s Taxes Show Chronic Losses and Years of Income Tax Avoidance https://nyti.ms/3jmgeBf

Donald J. Trump paid $750 in federal income taxes the year he won the presidency. In his first year in the White House, he paid another $750.

He had paid no income taxes at all in 10 of the previous 15 years — largely because he reported losing much more money than he made.

As the president wages a re-election campaign that polls say he is in danger of losing, his finances are under stress, beset by losses and hundreds of millions of dollars in debt coming due that he has personally guaranteed. Also hanging over him is a decade-long audit battle with the Internal Revenue Service over the legitimacy of a $72.9 million tax refund that he claimed, and received, after declaring huge losses. An adverse ruling could cost him more than $100 million.

The tax returns that Mr. Trump has long fought to keep private tell a story fundamentally different from the one he has sold to the American public. His reports to the I.R.S. portray a businessman who takes in hundreds of millions of dollars a year yet racks up chronic losses that he aggressively employs to avoid paying taxes. Now, with his financial challenges mounting, the records show that he depends more and more on making money from businesses that put him in potential and often direct conflict of interest with his job as president.

The best ad I've seen in a long time: "Save Lindsey Graham"

My apologies if this has been previously posted, but it's work a second and third look

Bloomberg's donation for the paying of fines is perfectly legal and here's why

First, the story is being misreported. Bloomberg isn't paying ex-felons fines. He's raising money for and donating to the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition, a Florida non-profit that pays fines for ex-felons. The FRRC has been doing this for years, it's part of one of its core missions to help end felon disenfranchisement, and it is completely legit activity.

The law permits a third party to pay fines or other costs necessary to allow people to vote (for example, help with paying for state iDs, providing rides to the polls, donating stamps for mail-in ballots, etc.) as long as the payment is not conditioned upon the person actually voting. For example, if a person tells someone "If you promise to vote, I will pay you $20" and they vote in return for receiving the $20, that is illegal. But saying, "I see you are unable to vote because you owe a fine or you can't afford to get the birth certificate you need to obtain an ID or you don't have the money for transportation to the polls, so I will pay that fine or cost for you so that you have the ability to vote if you want," that is legal.

But in this case, Bloomberg isn't even paying the fines himself. He's making a donation to a charity that pays fines with the expectation that they will use that money for the legal activity that they already do and is actually part of their mission to end felon disenfranchisement.

It's not even a close call and the Florida AG knows it. This is just part of the Trump strategy to throw sand and doubt into every aspect of the election that he can so they can later claim it was rigged.

Please don't fall for it or help to disseminate it. Share the facts.

The Root: Trump Interrupted a Black Woman While She Spoke During a Town Hall. It Didn't Go Well

Basically, Black women have been saving America from itself and putting America in its place since the beginning of time, so it was no shock when a Black woman stood up to President Trump and he stood down because the president is a lot of things but he hasn’t lost what little mind he has left.

Ellesia Blaque, an assistant professor who swapped her superhero mask for a face covering to be COVID-19-compliant confronted the president of white supremacy over his efforts to continue running his fuckshit express all over the American people. Blaque wanted to know how Trump’s efforts to repeal and never quite replace the Affordable Care Act were going to help people like herself with preexisting conditions during a town hall event Tuesday.

...And that is the moment he knew he f*cked up:

Blaque: Please stop and let me finish my question, Sir. Should that be removed, within a 36- to 72-hour period, without my medication, I will be dead.

You know that there was an implied “bitch” at the end of that sentence. And you know what the president did when Blaque told him to shut the f*ck up? He. Shut. The. F*ck. Up.

Biden doesn't have an "Hispanic problem"

just because a majority of Hispanics in one state aren't for him. He has no more of an "Hispanic problem" than he has a "white problem" by virtue of the fact that a majority of white people in the country support Trump.

The Hispanic population is not a monolith. Unlike some other groups that generally have a shared history in America - like African-Americans, for example - Hispanics represent a much wider range of people with very different backgrounds and perspectives.

And the truth is that in Florida, a large segment of the Hispanic population identify primarily as white, have always been conservative, tend to vote Republican, and don't feel a deep attachment to (and often look down their noses at) black and brown Hispanics who are bearing the brunt of Trump's hateful policies.

Biden doesn't have a problem with those Hispanics. They have a problem with HIM. And more important, they DON'T have a problem with TRUMP.

If at this stage of the game, that group of Hispanics in Florida who are planning to vote, or are even thinking of voting for Trump, I don't think there's much that Biden or anyone else can say or do to change their minds. They feel aligned with Trump and his racist contingent and are too drunk from guzzling the Kool-Aid to be reached.
