Where in the hell has this Biden been?

This is what I expected from Biden all this time. I like the emotion and the fire. Very good debate from Joe Biden. Did a very good job reminding people of his accomplishments.

Heck I might switch my choice after this if he can keep this up and on the stomp.

Bernie answered the "socialist" question perfect in town hall last night

Below is the Transcript from last night on this question. This is how you answer it. You point out corporate socialism. Throw the question right back at whoever ask it. We live in a country that corporate socialism is going on everyday. The bailout to the banks & wall-street ...etc. This is an answer that people can understand and makes sense.

QUESTION: If you're the nominee, you're expected to face criticism such as President Trump stating, quote, "America will never be a socialist country," end quote. For Americans who hold this concern, whether well-founded or not, how do you successfully overcome that kind of labelling to convince them to vote for you?

SANDERS: Good. Well, in two ways. In many ways, Donald Trump is a socialist himself. He is a socialist who believes in massive help to large corporations and the rich.

When Trump was a private businessman -- he was a real estate developer -- he himself received some $800 million in tax breaks and subsidies to build luxury condominiums. That's called socialism for the very, very rich.

When we give tax breaks and subsidies to the fossil fuel industry to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars so they can produce a product which is destroying the planet, this is called socialism for large corporations, corporate socialism.

Now, my definition of socialism, needless to say, is a little bit different. And I think if you look at countries around the world, look at countries in Scandinavia -- Finland, Sweden, Denmark -- what do they have? Everybody in those countries has health care as a human right. They vary a little bit, but by and large, it is a right. You don't have to take out your wallet. It is available to all people. In those countries, Germany, other countries, higher education is

basically free. In those countries, you have strong childcare systems so Mom and Dad can go to work and know that their kids are going to be in high-quality affordable childcare.

Their housing programs are strong. In other words, they have run governments which have policies designed to help the working families and the middle class.

So I know that Trump will distort anything and everything I believe, and by the way, he'll call any Democrat a socialist. So, you know, that will happen. But we will discuss what democratic socialism means as opposed to the corporate socialism that Trump believes in.

I'm so tired of the media talking about in-fighting with the candidates

Every time I listen to the media they say that they are making a mistake. They should all be fighting a common enemy, Trump. All this fighting with each other is tearing the party apart. .... ETC.

Give me a break. These candidates are fighting for the nomination. Are they all supposed to say we hate Trump vote for me? Or drop out and let one of them just go against Trump?

No, they are out there trying to show differences between each other. Explain why they are best to beat Trump and lead the country. That some times means taking shots at their opponents or calling out their weaknesses.

There is plenty time once this is over to come together. To go after Trump.

I'm a Pete guy. I do not blame Biden for criticizing Pete about not having enough experience or saying we can not nominate a socialist democrat. Biden should do that. He should fight. Just as the others should call out each other if need be. There is nothing wrong with that. This is politics. It should not be easy to just become President.

Look at the Republicans when Trump won the nomination. Look how ugly that got. Now obviously we do not want that kind of stuff in our party. But there is nothing wrong with Bernie talking about Biden voting for the Iraq war. Or Amy saying Pete lost his statewide election.

I will say so far Bloomberg has not going after any of the candidates that I know of. And that is ok also.

But nobody is making any mistake here. We will come together.

Amy Klobuchar supporters

I'm asking you if you can turn your support to Pete Buttigieg. It is obvious that Klobuchar can not become the nominee (sorry). And if you feel that a far left candidate like Warren or Bernie can not win a general election wouldn't it make sense to support the best moderate candidate?

Biden has shown he will not be a strong candidate. He is the VP to one of the most popular Presidents ever and he finished in 4th place in Iowa. A state at one time he was winning. He lost to Pete Buttigieg because Pete has that "IT" factor. When people get to know Pete his popularity grows. He also did well across the spectrum (old, young, female, male ..etc)

The party needs to start coming together behind one moderate or Bernie will start to run away with this. Maybe Bloomberg is the answer. I do not know.

All I heard was that other supporters would move to Biden in Iowa if their candidate did not get in. This was not true. They went to Pete or Warren & Sanders.

The latest NH poll Pete is already passing Biden. He is about to catch fire and we need to gt his numbers up competing with sanders.

I even ask Biden supporters to vote for Pete. Make the NH race close against Bernie.

Wow - Sanders group so large it kicked out Biden group

Just reported on CNN in Grinell, Iowa that Sanders group became so larger they had to move the Biden group to a smaller different area so all the Sanders people could fit.

Why waste all this time in Iowa?

Makes so much sense. Bloomberg is a smart guy. Democrats spend a year knocking on doors in Iowa when Trump will win that state in the general election. They should be starting in battle ground states. Start in Wisc, then Mich 2nd, follow up in PA & NC.

That way we are building a network in those states and winning the people over that actually matter more in the general election.

Michael Bloomberg: Starting with Iowa and New Hampshire hurts Democrats and helps Trump


The Democratic Party reflects America's incredible diversity. But the first two voting states, Iowa and New Hampshire, are among the most homogenous in the nation. While it's great that candidates reach out to voters in these states at every pancake breakfast and town hall around, what about African-American, Latino, Asian American, Pacific Islanders, and other voters in places like Detroit, Montgomery, Phoenix, and Houston? I've visited them all recently, and almost to a person, voters tell me the other campaigns have almost no presence in their cities.

The problem is compounded by the fact that the two early voting states are unlikely to be consequential in the general election. So as a party, we are spending all of our time and resources outside of the battleground states we need to win.


Meanwhile, President Trump is spending his time in Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida, and North Carolina -- all states we lost in 2016 by razor-thin margins. In 2020, we need to reverse at least some of those results -- and we also have the chance to flip other states that voted for Trump, including Arizona and even Texas.

But right now, we are in danger of repeating 2016 in large part because, as Democrats focus on Iowa and New Hampshire, Trump is operating at full-speed in the battleground states, with field staff and targeted television and digital advertisements. Tuesday, while Democrats are on stage in Des Moines, he'll be speaking to thousands of supporters in Wisconsin — a state Democrats need to rebuild the Blue Wall.

Why I'm switching from Warren to Buttigieg ...it was hard t do

This has been a real struggle but I have fallen victim to the media and nonstop talk that Warren & Sanders can not win a general election. I love Warren and she was awesome last night. I'm closer aligned to her polices (& Sanders) then anyone else on the stage. If I could wave a magic wand I would wave her into office because I think she would make massive change.

With that said, I do have concerns because Warren is already painted as a fringe candidate and extreme candidate. Which I believe these labels are false and more Americans align with her polices. But perception is reality ... specially in politics.

Pete Buttigieg is an amazing individual. I have never seen anyone as quick witted and speak so well in my life. This guy is an special talent. He is amazing to watch preform. He does have a more media "mainstream" policy so he cannot be labeled fringe.

He has a very unifying tone. He is a fresh face to the political scene and does not have that insider voting history to use against him. He would be able to bring young people to vote and I think he gives us the best chance to beat Trump.

Yes, I'm falling into picking the best candidate to beat Trump. A lot of people will say that is Biden but I disagree. I believe we need a candidate that can excite the American people. Young people to turn out and vote. Someone who can speak to youth and older voters. Someone who with their words can unite people. To inspire people. Want to give money & time. Knock on doors. I do not think Biden is that candidate.

People will try and use the experience subject against Buttigieg. But I actually do not think that is even a high issue when it comes to voters. Specially not younger voters. Besides Buttigieg answers that question so well. And when you hear him talk because he is so highly educated and speaks so clearly you think he knows every subject like he has been studying it for 30 years.

Chris Matthews interviewing Buttigieg after the debate even asked his age and said its stunning at Buttigieg wealth of knowledge is extraordinary (paraphrasing). The experience will be a nonissue to voters. Just listen to the interview.

I still think Obama was the greatest politician giving speeches I have ever heard. But Buttigieg is the best at being asked direct questions and responding I have ever heard.

I still love Warren. I would still be very happy with Warren and I would support Biden, Harris, Sanders with all my heart. Really anyone on that stage last night. But I do think Buttigieg gives us the best chance to beat Trump plus still gives us the excitement to want to vote for a candidate.

Biden reminds me of an old boxer

A old boxer that was once a great fighter and loved to watch him compete in the ring. But now he is past his prime and I feel bad watching him take a beating.

I have always liked Biden but it is hard watching him in these debates. He cannot even get a coherent sentence out. He misspeaks consistently and loses his train of thought.

How can anyone honestly say this isn't true. The media is finally starting to call this out. I know everyone tries to look the other way and act like it isn't true because most feel Biden is the best chance to beat Trump. I actually felt this way also. I thought Biden would be the easiest road to removing Trump. I just like other candidates policies more and think most of the top 5 would beat Trump.

But I'm starting to worry now that Biden wont be able to beat Trump if people actually pay attention. Trump will use this against Biden. I worry Trump will make a mockery of Biden being incoherent on stage with him. He already release a video of it. They will beat this subject into the ground and just show samples of Biden. This could be ugly

Really - 8 candidates already make the next debate stage?

Per the below article. 8 candidates already make the next debate stage. This is getting annoying. They need to make it harder to get on the stage. 3% support is not high enough. There shouldn't be more than 6 candidates on the stage at this point. Having this many people hurts candidates like Harris & Buttigieg that are more unknown but that actually have a chance to break through.

At this point it should be Biden, Warren, Sanders, Buttigieg, Harris
