my fear is we have a candidate problem

Our candidates are superior but unlike Clinton or Obama, the average voter may see an election between two old white dudes. Most of the public isn't as engaged or informed as DU. Far from it. Think about 2008. Obama won in Indiana. That takes a transformative candidate to pull that off. We don't have that in 2020. We have old, career, Washington insiders. Fact. The fact that this race will be close is pretty damning. Im sorry but there is a lack of excitement about our candidates. I work in politics. A passion to beat Trump? Yes, amoung the engaged. I just don't see movement like I did with Clinton and Obama.

Census question 2020

What election cycle does the 2020 Census data effect? I've read 4 articles the last 48 hours that say states that Trump won will likely pick up 4-8 electoral votes due to population decreases in NY, CA, IL, RI and MN. Projections have TX, AZ, FL and NC all gaining. I was just curious. Upside is those states are trending Blue

Thanks Bloomberg

Trump is buying a 60 second ad during Superbowl. I want to thank Bloomberg for doing the same. Although expensive, the audience is massive. The DNC should buy one and call him a racist to his face.

Census

I read a piece where NY and California will lose seats and Florida, Arizona, Texas and NC will probably gain seats. For what its worth

My lifelong Republcan mother just called

She is 70. A lifelong Republican. Never voted for a Democrat. She's white, has a Master's in Nursing and an amazing grandmother to my 18 yo HS senior. She said she is so alarmed by this Iran conflict and her grandsons future that she is going to vote for Joe Biden. She said she couldn't support "any of the the rest of them because they are too far left". Now...she knows I supported Bernie in 2016 and I'm a pretty liberal guy but I told her that's ok, I understand and Joe will be alright.

Question on war declaration

As with Iraq does the entire Congress vote to declare war or simply one chamber?

Iran conflict WILL NOT help Trump

Any retaliatory military action after 9/11 was going to help Bush. Americans were pissed, United and ready ( valid or not). This is totally diffrent and you will not see unity as you did on 9/11 when most Americans felt personally attacked. I can't imagine being advised that this was a politically smart move
