Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are continuing their campaign blitz today with a scheduled address at an United Auto Workers event in Detroit following an energized rally in the city on Wednesday night.

Harris’s scheduled address before the UAW comes amid the union’s endorsement of her and Walz.

Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, are set to play up their support for organized labor during an appearance at a Detroit-area union hall as the new Democratic ticket lavishes attention on a crucial base of support.

Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, and Walz, who joined the ticket on Tuesday, plan to speak on Thursday to several dozen United Auto Workers members.

So a bit of background on what the Trump campaign is dealing with on the ground. At the end of last week the Harris campaign announced a campaign rally in Detroit for Aug 7th (tomorrow). Over 24 hrs (last Thursday into Friday) they got 47,000 requests for tickets. 47,000....

That spurred a multi-day search for a new venue that could handle the demand.

NEW: Judge Chutkan has set an Aug. 16 hearing to consider the schedule for Trump’s criminal case. She has denied his motion to dismiss on legal grounds but says he can refile once immunity issues are resolved.

Kamala Harris is preparing for the final stage of selecting a running mate: face-to-face interviews.

She has yet to meet with any of the vice presidential finalists in person. But Harris plans to do so in the coming days, the last step in an unusually condensed vetting process before a public rollout next week that includes a rally Tuesday in Philadelphia.
