Dem4Life1102's JournalSanders say there is a path to win the nomination
I wonder if Susan Sarandon
and everyone else who refused to "compromise their principles" in 2016 by voting for Hillary Clinton feel any guilt for the people who have died from Coronavirus due to Trump's total denial and mismanagement of the situation?
Most Nominees don't pick a former primary opponent as VP
Sure Obama did but that is the exception not the rule.
Trump picked Pence who didn't run in the GOP primaries in 16.
Bush II picked Cheney.
Clinton picked Gore.
Bush I picked Quayle.
Carter picked Mondale.
Nixon picked Agnew.
Eisenhower picked Nixon.
Going back almost 70 years there only 3 cases of a nominee picking a former primary opponent as VP, Johnson in 60, Bush in 80 and Biden in 08. More than twice as many times, they picked someone who didn't run against them in the primaries.
Now Biden might but it I wouldn't advise anyone to expect it.
Imagine if during this crisis the Democrats decided on total obstruction
just like the GOP did during the financial crisis in 2009.
Nothing wrong with Sanders staying in another few weeks
or even until the end of the primaries. Clinton did that in 08. He should get out as soon as the primaries are over and not wait until the convention as he did in 16. That is all!
Saw in another thread but deserves a top post
https://twitter.com/crackers8199/status/1237589391020707840Will Michael Moore now claim Michigan doesn't represent the country
and the Democratic Party?
Just saw Michael Moore on MSNBC
He was more restrained than usual. Looked like hes in mourning.
It's not about people really wanting Klobchar for VP
Suddenly there are a lot of people here pushing for Amy Klobchar to be picked as the VP nominee. This is surprising since she didn't have much support here when she was running for the nomination.
However, as a friend admitted to me earlier today, it is not really about wanting her as VP. The real motive is the hope that if she is elected VP, Al Franken will be appointed to serve out her term in the Senate. So to those who are hoping for this, even if Klobchar were to become VP, there is no way Franken will be appointed. Just not going to happen so please give it up and let's focus on beating Trump.
