California Drop Boxes.

I just had this horrible idea why the GOP installed illegal drop boxes in California, I hope someone can convince me otherwise.
I believe that even though all of the ballots won't be counted on election night, I believe that Joe Biden will still have enough electoral votes to make it obvious that he is the winner, unless California's electoral votes are not included. I can envision California ballots, from those illegal drop boxes may just turn up in dumpsters. Trump can declare the California election is rigged. I am sure he will also challenge elections in other states that have a lot of electoral votes. Without California's electoral votes it will give Trump's lawyers time to challenge the election and send it to the Supreme Court that will then declare Trump to be king.

Please, someone with some legal expertise, convince me why that scenario can't happen?

I see no other logical reason why they installed those drop boxes. They want to get their hands on a lot of ballots and use them as Reichstag fires.

Florida Republicans crying over Bloomberg.

I love it. My local right wing site is crying about how rich people can buy politicians. I read them the riot act over Citizens United.

Repugs are claiming that Bloomberg committed a felony;

18 U.S. Code § 597

Whoever makes or offers to make an expenditure to any person, either to vote or withhold his vote, or to vote for or against any candidate; and

Whoever solicits, accepts, or receives any such expenditure in consideration of his vote or the withholding of his vote—

Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both; and if the violation was willful, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.

I replied that Bloomberg is just making a wrong - right. Why do former felons have to be debt free in order to vote? Isn't that a poll tax?

I'm sure that Bloomberg touched all bases with this but I love the smell of red neck panic in the morning.

So if Trump gets drubbed in November,

what if he then resigns and Pence becomes president until January. Can Pence give Trump a blanket pardon for all of his federal crimes?

Trump's remarks to Ms. Maxwell

There are a lot of people, Mika for one, who are mistakenly claiming that Trump wished Maxwell well, he did not. Trump gave her the mob kiss, gave her a warning not to spill the beans. There is no other feasible explanation why he would say that.

Supreme Court decisions today,

I haven't heard of any Trump rage Tweets last night. If Trump refrained from Tweeting I think it's a bad omen for the SC rulings.

Why? Because there is no way that Clarence Thomas or his wife doesn't clue Trump in ahead of time what is coming down.

Just saying, if the decision has been made, Trump knows what it is.

Isn't there a Supreme Court decision

due out today or (soon) over the release of Trump's finances? Pretty quiet. maybe I'm wrong?

Calling Speaker Pelosi

I am calling on Democrats to pass a bill condemning Putin, condemning the bounties. Pass a bill that puts sanctions on Russia and make Republicans vote against it.

Do it Speaker Pelosi because Trump will not respond, he is calling this classified information.

So were Cuomo and AOC right?

Looking, to me, like AOC and Andrew Cuomo may have been right about drawing a line in the sand over the last bail out bill.
Democrats will surely pass its bill soon but Republicans having gotten what they wanted in the last bill aren't planning on voting on any bail out bill until June.

I do agree that Republicans are going to have to cough up some money for the states because red states are hurting too, but how watered down will the final bill be? What will Democrats have to give up to get a decent bill? Good by Medicare and Social Security if our payroll tax deductions are eliminated.

Just saying, time will tell if Lucy pulls the football away again.

Supreme Court arguments today live

Washington (CNN)The Supreme Court is continuing to hold oral arguments via teleconference due to the coronavirus pandemic. And in a historic first, it's also allowing oral arguments to be aired live to the public.

Here's what to know for Tuesday's cases:
First case: Donald J. Trump et al v. Mazars, Donald J. Trump v. Deutsche Bank
Time: 10:00 a.m. ET.

Governor Cuomo's press conference.

Anyone watch it? Didn't he say that he talked to Senators Schumer and Gillebrand not to pass a bill that leaves out money for the states? Cuomo said that he doesn't trust Republicans to give money later. He then said it looks like he was right. It sure looks to me that the governor had the same opinion as AOC had.

Any comments? Anyone want to start an anti-Cuomo thread?
