Certified Election Results Due In December

Why worry about getting the Nov election results faster than a drive-thru burger?

Sure, a quick result is nice and we've been able to make the 'call' within several hours, after the polls close.

But, let's talk about the legally defined CERTIFIED final election results. This gives each state the time to handle voter challenges, tie races and any other legal steps that may arise for every election.
The Certification is the official results the state's must report. Not one is due on Nov 3rd, 4th or 5th! The earliest date is Nov 10th.

The link below, shows the 'certification dates due' for each state.

The final results are not due until well after the election and some states report in December.
https://ballotpedia.org/Election_results_certification_dates,_2020

The certification dates rranges from Nov 10, 2020 to Dec 8, 2020.
So, who won? Officially we will not know until Dec 8, 2020...the last date for any state to report the certified results.

Kenosha Shooting: Proof Cops are Not Trained

The Kenosha shooting, of a man in the back 8 times is proof that Wisconsin, and most other states, are not TRAINING POLICE.
We must stop fast tracking soliders into civilian law enforcement, and train officers to provide help.
That means not arresting the homeless, but helping them get social services help for that night.
That means not arming them with military equipment, but the minimal forces needed in a civil society.
That means using bolos instead of tasers...but they grab a 45 first, because they were trained that way in war.

Keep peacful protesting, don't allow the right wing to find one small idiot throwing a rock. Find the thousands of citizens who march, in peace for peace.

Wisconsin was the leader in environmental protections, civil rights and respect.
Since Walker and the fringe radical facist right, Wisconsin has lost that standing and Kenosha's shooting will further send our status into the shithole nation that Trump has created.

Keep Diligent and find the "Good Trouble"

RNC Convention on COvid response

That clip after clip of Dems saying things that appeare to support Trump's efforts on CoVid were really a bizarre sequence.
I doubt if one of those clips were in the same context as the RNC wants to imply it did.

Someone will dig them up, to prove the context was taken out and replaced with propaganda fantasy island speak.

Trump invented TeleHealth? It has been allowed only after mid-May when the Trumps were FORCED to pay for it.
Only one hour into this, and it is gonna be a bumpy ride.

Nov 3 Vote Guide- Register & Mail Voting

OK, here's the new deadlines to; register to vote and/or get an absentee/mail ballot, in WIsconsin.

THERE ARE SOME IMPORTANT THINGS TO BE ACCURATE WITH. DO NOT ASSUME ANYTHING...
The GOP wrote the election laws and has made sure that even typos can be considered an attempt at fraud, which is a felony in Wisconsin.
Here's some major things to remember when registering to vote:
1) Your postal mailing address may not be your residence municipality, so check your address online at https://myvote.wi.gov/en-us/
2) You name must match what is on your WI Driver's License/State ID, be precise and double check everything.
3) If in doubt, go to myvotewi.gov and put your home address in to find you municipal clerk...then call them. Do not wait until Nov 1st to get started.

Seattle Police Defund is a 1% budget cut

Seattle's CIty Council did not defund the police. It cut the police budget by 1%.
The cut worked out to a $3M of a $400M budget. Far less than the 50% the protesters were calling for.

Conservative pundits & cable news groups have used the word 'defund' which implies a complete elimination of all monies.
Semi-defund would be a more accurate term for what actually occurred. A 1% budget cut is not a de-funding, it's a small step...a very small step.

Seattle City Council made all departments, not just the police, cut the current and next year's budgets to help the city recover some of the CoVid costs.

If you see and respond to a 'defund' posting anywhere, make sure you correct the nut-jobs explaining it was a 1% budget cut, not a defund.

Court Changes Wisc Voter Registraion & Dates URGENT

WIsconsin's early voting, absentee voting or voting by mail (Your pick the name, even though the process is identical) will begin on September 18th, 2020.
for Uniformed and Overseas Citizens. The rest of us voters have even more hoops to jump through, thanks to the right wing anti-voting crowd.

The US 7th Federal Circuit Court ruled on June 30, 2020 on a One Wisconsin Institute (another right wing think tank) Case that further restricts voting rights in the nation's most gerrymandered state.

RESIDENCY:
It was 10 days to gain residency to vote..it is now 28 days to live in Wisc to be eligible to vote on Nov 3rd.
That means if you just moved there, you must register before October 6th or you will not be able to vote.

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY:
In-person absentee voting may be conducted beginning no earlier than 14 days prior to each election and ending no later than the Sunday prior to election day. No in-person absentee voting is allowed on the Monday prior to election day. ( I got my ballot for Aug 11th primary on June 26th).
There is no limit contained in the current law on the maximum number of hours that can be offered for in-person absentee voting and the law also does not establish a minimum number of hours that must be offered (although opportunities for in-person absentee voting must be offered). In-person absentee voting hours are also not required to be offered on each day of this time period. (Maybe 15mins on say, Oct 20th - the very earliest date and maybe, 15mins on Friday Oct 30th - the very last day to vote early)

OTHER CHANGES:
Absentee Ballot Certificate Envelope (Updated): State law requires the certification language on the absentee ballot return envelope to include the residency requirement in the voter affirmation section. Wis. Stat. § 6.87(2). Existing stock of return envelopes that list the 10-day standard may still be used, but the clerk should manually change the reference to the 28-day residency requirement, and initial this change, before issuing the return envelope to an absentee voter. ( Clerks with Sharpies, hand writing new dates on forms, because they won't print new registration forms, absentee ballot application forms and mailing envelopes for those types of ballots...what could go wrong here?)

The Court’s decision also affects several other changes to elections law that WEC staff is currently analyzing to determine their impact, including issues with university ID cards as proof of identification, and the ID Petition Process administered by the Wisconsin Department of Motor Vehicles. ( So we have no idea what kinds of ID are going to be required to register to vote, or show at the polling locations on election day> Or what hours and locations will be available to voters to get a proper ID in Wisconsin, which the GOP closed over half the offices, cut hours by up to 70% and will certainly drag their asses in setting those dates).

The Wisc Elections Board was going to meet on Aug 25th to determine these dates & times, but have decided to kick it to Sept 1st., which they are meeting for the first time on these court ordered changes.

HAND WRITING ON VOTING FORMS? The clerks can only do this my hand, on every single form. Wisconsin may have well over a million absentee ballots.
What could possibly go wrong?

Biden's VP pick was a logical choice

POTUS candidates always have, and probably will, be required to consider just a few major issues when picking a running mate.
The common issues are economics, human rights and support for future benefits the federal government can provide society. 2020 is no different.
I think Biden had two major issues to consider;

1) Judicial reform.
This issue is at the forefront of the American mindset in 2020. We know there are huge problems in how our police are trained and funded.
We clearly do not want local police coming directly from international war zones and applying those military tactics to civil law.
Kamala Harris was and is, the best choice to bring judicial reforms. Another critical choice Biden can make, if elected, is who the US Atty Gen will be. He will need to pick a very aggressive legal progressive. A person who is a master at legal process and can refute Trump's SCOTUS puppets; maybe convincing Alito, Thomas, Kavanaugh and Gorsich to simply resign once their dissents are shown to be partisan instead of serious judicial thought. Harris would be able to do this, as the VP or the Atty General. Biden chose well by picking Harris. She is no Mike Pence and the nation will see what Pence really can offer in repairing the mess Trump created. Oh wait...Pence is a huge part of the mess and voters will not see Pence endorse reforms.

2) Economics.
Capitalism can always create more income, it's designed to do that. Any economy can gets into serious trouble; usually from war... but equally as a result of idiotic political actions and stunts; pandering tax cuts that don't really benefit society as a whole, ill-planned trade tariffs based on imaginary boogeymen and of course the nonsense that America is near bankrupt. We generate $30 Trillion annually, and if compared to the most common individual "debt threat" -- a 30 yr home mortgage, our potential $900 Trillion is useless and no bank will ever give us a mortgage. OK conservatives you keep saying we are broke and we will never make any money....EVER!
We need to spend money to operate as one of the world's nation states. All nations must do that. A VP pick for economic reasons, like Susan Rice, would be effective in repairing the horrific economic damage that Trump and, more importantly the GOP has caused since Reaganomics started targeting our societal needs as the enemy of economic progress. The pandemic is and must be a separate cost, policy does not mutate genetics. Policy mutilates fair economic practices.

We all want better and Trump has allowed us to focus ( or be woke) on some very specific changes that go beyond want, and become need.
America is superb at reforms and we need to eliminate the obstructionists, meaning neocon economics (think Kudlow-saurus) from the table.

Voter can and should punish the GOP for the mess they created and Biden's VP pick of Kamala Harris is certainly going to force the GOP to confront it's own outdated ideology. The 'tar pit' of history is now, clearly visible and voters only give the GOP that last little shove.
