A Lost Opportunity for Evangelical Christians

https://signalpress.blogspot.com/2021/08/a-lost-opportunity-for-evangelical.html

Political power has replaced Biblical authority among Evangelicals. Dan Darling's firing from the National Religious Broadcasters executive board is a clear indication of this.

Arizona Republicans have a long history of making themselves look bad

The sham Cyber Ninja alleged audit-disaster is just one of many such events. It's about time for Democrats to capitalize and win more elections.

A President for Our Time

Read it through, it's about Biden. But enjoy the history too, and the comparison.

Quit Calling the Afghanistan Evacuation a "Debacle"

Put the emphasis for a debacle where it belongs, on the Republicans, Bush and Trump. Biden is demonstrating more competence and expertise, and is acting more like we expect from a President of the United States than anyone who was involved with this has acted. And if you believe otherwise, you're listening to the wrong source of information.

Faithful Christians Wear Masks and Get Vaccinated, so Where's the Resistance Coming From?

Too much right wing media, political influence and personal, selfish ambition and too little of the truth.

Phoenix Union's Mask Mutiny is Sound Public Policy; Gov. Ducey Should Be Embarrassed

Source: The Arizona Republic

The state’s largest high school district just delivered a slap in the face to Gov. Doug Ducey and the Republican-run Legislature.

Phoenix Union High School District announced on Friday that it has decided to follow the science rather than state law and require students and faculty to wear masks when classes begin next week.

“We teach and trust science, follow guidelines and recommendations from health experts, and use health data to drive our decisions,” the district said on Friday.

As opposed, say, to the state’s Republican leaders who chase conspiracy theories, see vaccinations as a government plot and masks as outright tyranny.

One would think leaders like this would embrace masks, if only to hide behind them in shame.

Instead, PUHSD can expect strong pushback, probably in the form of a threat to withhold state funding.

It's funny that Republicans were screeching and flapping their lips when Democratic governors were mandating masks, closing down public venues and trying to protect people from the virus. "It's unconstitutional" they shrieked! Governors and legislatures don't have that kind of authority. But now, it's all OK when Republicans want to indulge in their phony conspiracy theories.

The Arizona legislature and most of its governors have a long history of incompetence, stupidity, and a lack of ability to think clearly and made reasonable, informed decisions on behalf of their people. It's been one of the most tyrannical, oppressive, self-serving groups in the country dating back to at least the end of WW2. It is on its last legs as population growth, much of it made up of migrating California liberals from San Francisco, Los Angeles and the Bay Area, and the growth of the Latino population has reached critical mass in the voter registration and Democrats now edge out Republicans. The senate is one seat away from flipping, the house won't be far behind because the Democrats aren't concentrated in geographic areas now as they once were.

Congratulations to all of the school districts in Republican dominated states who are protecting their students and defying those who are willing to sacrifice lives to feather their own political nest.

Parents, remember this when you step into that voting booth.

Where Republicans don't stack up to Evangelical Christian Values

in the words and standards set by well-known Evangelical preachers and leaders, there are really just a couple of "Evangelical" principles on which Republicans claim to hang their hat, abortion rights and now, LGBTQ issues. But on the basic principles, including the much maligned term "social justice" and on casting a ballot based on the character of the candidate, they fail and the standards by which they fail have been articulated by well-known evangelical leaders.

The section on character is particularly pointed.
