Watching Painkiller on Netflix

Holy cow! These drug companies are just nasty. I am so grateful that the government cracked down on that horrible drug OxyContin. What a disaster that’s been for our country. Basically all done behind the scene until a smart women questioned the drug. It’s a powerful movie. I highly recommend it. I’m not done but needed a break. Lol.

It’s a mini series that has real actors and a very informative and true storyline.

It is totally eye opening

Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., is paying tens of thousands in legal fees and is setting up a legal defense fund in connection with a federal criminal probe, according to campaign finance records and a spokeswoman for Menendez.

The new filings reveal payments totaling roughly $200,000 to two law firms and a document search company since the beginning of the year.

A spokeswoman declined to provide details about the payments but said Menendez would be establishing a defense fund.

“Senator Menendez is confident that this official inquiry will be successfully closed, but as it is still unresolved he will be opening a separate legal defense fund so as not to drain any further campaign funds,” the spokeswoman said in a statement.

Sources have said Menendez is under investigation in connection with a Weehawken, New Jersey, meat company that won an exclusive contract with the government of Egypt to certify halal exports worldwide. Several officials have said owners of the company, IS EG Halal, have given expensive gifts to Menendez’s wife in the past.

NBC News previously reported that dozens of federal grand jury subpoenas were issued in connection with the investigation, led by the U.S. attorney’s office for Southern New York.

NYPD: Take off masks before entering stores

This is quite a turnaround. I’m shocked to see this as I never thought I would.

Face masks, once an essential Covid-19 protective measure, are now being worn by criminals to conceal their identities, according to New York police who are urging businesses to unmask customers before letting them in stores.

The recommendation is a 180-degree turn from mask-wearing norms at the onset of the pandemic. During peak periods of infection, federal agencies mandated mask-wearing in public places, while many businesses required customers to wear them on the premises.

Now, however, some businesses are banning customers from entering the premises with face masks on, saying the policy change is needed to identify thieves. And after numerous incidents, the New York Police Department is urging business owners to make shoppers remove their face masks and flash their features before being let in.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart 💕 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤

Suburban School Worker Stole 11K Cases of Chicken Wings in $1.5M Embezzlement Scheme: Court Docs

Such an unusual Story.

Prosecutors allege Vera Liddell placed hundreds of unauthorized orders for food items, particularly chicken wings, between July 2020 and February 2022.

Cook County prosecutors have charged the former head of food services at a south suburban school district of engaging in a massive embezzlement scheme in which she allegedly stole more than 11,000 cases of chicken wings and $1.5 million in taxpayer funds over a 19-month period, court documents revealed.

Vera Liddell, who worked as the director of food services at Harvey School District 152, was charged with felony continuing financial crimes enterprise and theft exceeding $1,000,000, also a felony, according to a proffer filed in Cook County Circuit Court.

Prosecutors allege Liddell placed hundreds of unauthorized orders for food items, particularly chicken wings, with the district's main supplier, Gordon Food Services, from July 2020 to February 2022. While Liddell placed the orders separate from the district's legitimate orders, Gordon Food Services billed the school district for the items, believing Liddell was authorized to make the purchases on its behalf, court documents state.
