In the early '80's the USDA bought excess dairy products....

...in the form of American cheese and made it available to the poor or basically anyone that stood in line for it. The cheese was then known as Government cheese, and it was good.
This program was an effort to prevent a collapse of prices and supported the dairy farmers. Nothing wasted, and it was a win-win for farmers and people in poverty. Not certain but I doubt that it caused much pain to the government either. The kicker, a Republican was President, a Ronald Reagan.
Why are we disposing of meat, eggs, milk and produce, especially with the demand for food banks at an all time high and with a shortage of food at the food banks? And then explain to me how it makes sense to pay the producers of the food to dispose of the food at the tune of $20 billion a year?
There are 30 million people unemployed and the McConnell Senate ain’t giving regular citizens another dime....please don’t feed me the “price support protection” BS line either.

Stop telling me that "we will get through this together"

Yes damnit, of course .... for those of us that don’t die, yes we will get through this.
I understand that is rhetoric designed to pull together a divided country but for that to work you must actually mean it. Don’t support rallies that only divides us further.

Will we ever look at Buffet restaurants the same way again?

even Cafeterias, there is a lot of breathing, coughing and sneezing in those lines near your food, multiple people touching the trays and utensils.....
Doesn’t that sector recover from this? Without a vaccine for Covid-19 for another year, I don’t see them recovering.

In Trump's scoreboard mentality- deaths are equivalent to points

Someone please remind this idiot that he is “loosing”. His score is worse than any other country by more than double and celebrating himself because he showed up.
Also remind him that he predicted victory when he claimed zero deaths. “It is at 15 and will soon down to 0”
And could he just stand in the shoes of the family’s that have lost family members that he only sees as points on a board.
Additionally, this is not over!

Here is the thing, if they (Republicans) are wrong....

How bad will it get before they stop? Will it be too late?
What will that look like, even for the healthy ones?
Income? Food?

Trump's real desire in all of this ....

Is to get back to a packed auditorium for his Campaign rallies. When asked to advise these Trump loving protesters to follow the social guidelines that he had just issued, he wouldn’t do it. The same about empty stadiums, and he said that the stadiums should be packed, completely opposite of his fresh set of guidelines.
Bet my chain saw that he has a full house rally in the 1st week of May.

Dr. Birx and Fauci both seem to be taking lessons....

From the kellyanne school of spin be cause they get better each day at spilling out Trump approved bullshit and skating on the fringes of the truth. When given a question, they have learned to give a 2 min response that doesn’t get close to the question asked.

Once again, a reminder that China doesn't pay Tariffs

Trump again made the claim yesterday saying that farmers bailout funds were taken from the billions of dollars paid by the Chinese Government for his tariffs.
And once again, no one out of the press Corp reminded him of that, likely out of exhaustion of fact checking everything he says.

Trump and the Postal Service

Trump may need to ask his banking and real estate buddies about funding the postal service. Who will mail out their millions of certified foreclosure, and eviction notices?
Judicial rules and procedures depend on the USPS and will take time to remedy. By comparison Process servers are expensive.

Does he run from the podium to avoid Post Office Questions.?

How about we start with the Post Office questions in tomorrow’s pep rally.
