Masks Once Again Required Indoors at Walt Disney World, Disneyland Resort Starting 7/30
Walt Disney World Resort has announced another change to their COVID-19 safety policies and will now require masks to be worn indoors regardless of vaccination status beginning July 30. This aligns with the recommendations from Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Until now, vaccinated guests were permitted to go maskless everywhere except on Disney transportation. Unvaccinated guests were asked to continue wearing masks indoors, including transportation.
“We are adapting our health and safety guidelines based on guidance from health and government officials, and will require Cast Members and Guests ages 2 and up, to wear face coverings in all indoor locations at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort beginning Friday, July 30, regardless of vaccination status. At Walt Disney World Resort, this includes upon entering and throughout all attractions and in enclosed transportation vehicles, including shuttles, buses, monorails and at Disney Skyliner,” reads an official statement from Disney.

A California man in his early 30s who derided vaccines on Twitter and Instagram died of COVID-19
A man who joked about not getting vaccinated died of the coronavirus a little more than a month later. Stephen Harmon's death was announced by the Hillsong Church founder Brian Houston on Twitter on Thursday.
Before his death, Harmon made jokes about the virus on Twitter, including references to his decision not to get vaccinated. On June 3, Harmon tweeted: "If you're having email problems, I feel bad for you, son. I got 99 problems but a vax ain't one!" The tweet was a reference to the Jay-Z song "99 Problems."
Three days later, Harmon made another reference to being unvaccinated. "Since everything is a social construct these days & folks out here identifying as different races than they're born as (Rachel Dolezal now Nkechi Amare Diallo) I've decided that I, now, identify as a 6'3 D1 collegiate athlete. And, if you prefer, I'll identify as vaccinated, too," Harmon wrote.
Harmon also made a joke about the widespread trust in Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation's leading infectious-disease expert. "When you can't trust the Bible cause it was written by man, but you trust the CDC/Fauci guidelines cause they were written by man. Makes total sense," Harmon tweeted on May 26.
Harmon posted on Instragram on June 30 from the hospital saying he had contracted the virus. He then gave regular updates on his condition. On July 8, he posted another anti-vaccine joke and criticized what he termed undue pressure to encourage people to take the shot. He wrote alongside the post: "i'm not against it, i'm just not in a rush to get it… ironically, as I continue to lay here, in South Corona, in my covid ward isolation room fighting off the virus and pneumonia. And no, i will not be getting vaccinated once i am discharged and released."
In the days that followed, Harmon wrote that his condition had improved, then worsened again. His last tweet was posted Wednesday, when Harmon said he was choosing to be intubated.

Gee.....Hospitals are filling up, and the # of deaths is no longer declining. But where are the Vaccinated patients? Where are all the obits saying, "Despite being fully vaccinated in May, Jim Bob passed away yesterday at the age of 57 from Covid"?
Covid is 6 steps ahead of them. Nothing has changed in that regard. This, at least, is the same as before. The steps we take today, will not make an impact on the spread, for at least 4-6 weeks. And we're really not doing much, if anything.
We're just seeing the effects of July 4th. Now that's starting to multiply exponentially, because That's How Covid Works! Building up steam, and is not going to be pushed back right away.
Then there's the vaccinations. Someone who gets their 1st Pfizer shot today, a 2nd in 3 weeks, won't be considered fully safe until 5 weeks from now. For Moderna it's 6 weeks, or just before Labor Day Weekend.
And despite a few of the MORON repubs appearing to sing a different tune, that ship ain't turning around quickly, if at all. So I don't expect a bunch to rush out and get vaccinated, so they're safe by the beginning of September.
