I was just reading a book and a description sent me reeling back 50 years. A time when potted and hanging plants were everywhere. I obviously found them comforting and soothing since that is the emotion the memories pulled up. What happened to that time?
It's just a strange world we live in now.
I live in SW Florida close to the Gulf. The couple of trump flags in my area have come down. While out on errands this morning I saw a truck coming towards me flying a flag. It was a Harris/Walz flag.
So tonight I find myself cycling through the Stage of Anger.
I have realized that I'm cycling through the 5 Stages Of Grief. Tonight it's 'Anger". I realized that I can accept racism for the voters against Kamala. But I realized that I was totally devastated by the obvious misogamy. I understand, even if I don't like it, that racism has been a part of this country since the beginning. But to have the misogamy thrown in my face, nope! The women of this country have been a part/ partner since the beginning. Anyone even have a clue what the men would have done without the woman? The fact that a major percentage of the voters thought that a rapist/felon was a better bet for president than a fully qualified woman is just totally disqualifying. What the actual F! I'm totally appalled by what I believe the majority of this country believes about men and woman. Who are we?

Anyone have any information regarding Kamala's rally in Ann Arbor tonight.?
That’s my home stamping ground before moving to Florida. A friend reported Kamala was suppose to be at a park that I remember as being very small. Well it was huge in the early 50s. Just curious what’s happening. My sister who still lives there thought about driving over there (5 min drive) but thought better of it.
Just voted in pretty red Sarasota County, Florida. Wonderful experience.
Everyone, including the trump people outside were super nice and helpful. The line moved quickly. Apparently on Monday the line was very long, out the door and deep into the parking lot. Including finding a parking place and standing in line etc took less than an hour. The best part was all the BLUE that people were wearing. Not a single red or even orange shirt. My friends hot pink shirt was the closest thing to red I saw. One of the best voting experiences I've had. Thank you Sarasota County. I wasn't expecting that.

Dang, just got an email from Danny Nix. Good grief.
He's running for state rep. He ends his spiel with the following, "Taking inspiration from Governor Ron DeSantis, Danny will fight tirelessly for every
Floridian's freedoms." Yes, DeSantis has been an inspiration for a few white Floridians, but the rest just don't feel so loved. How can anyone write those lies and utter nonsense?
So there is much to be proud of right now as well as to be appalled by. But I'm angry.
I just read an article on another website that equated what was happening with trump to what Joe Biden was experiencing. No, they are nothing alike. Joe Biden has spent the last 3 years running this country as well as being intimately involved in the rest of the world. He is the President of the United States. Trump has played golf for the last 3 1/2 years, done a few gatherings and generally just complained. Joe Biden has a right to be tired, trump doesn't. They are not the same, nope, no way, no how. Do not try to equate Joe Biden with donald trump. The US press has done unimaginable damage to this country. You may not further damage the name and reputation of the finest politician and the best President I've ever know.
I'm so angry I'm on the verge of tears and I'm just so discouraged and frustrated.
My home page is AOL. I just signed on the main page is a hit piece on Biden with all sorts of "people in the administration" saying that he's done etc. It's a friggin hit piece. He's being lynched and I don't see what I can do. If they do this to him than I don't see how our democracy can recover even if a Democrat wins the election. It's no longer a government by the people. They aren't even trying to cover it up. The Oligarchs friggin win and we the people and the constitution and the principles that we have at least tried to live by lose.
Some one said that people are worried about Biden not being a strong campaigner and that's worrying people.
I don’t think Biden should be our main strength on the campaign trail. For one thing he still has to put a certain amount of time into running the country. But more importantly we have some extraordinarily strong issues to pursuade people with. 1)Abortion and contraception rights. 2). Women’s rights. 3). Climate change. 4). Christian Fascism 5). Project 2025. 6). Not to mention the horror that is trump. Yeah I know I’ve forgotten others.
Let Joe run the country and make some campaign appearances, but send others out to ring the warning. There are a lot of people who are really good at campaigning, ie Bernie Sanders. Let them carry part of the load.
If Biden is taken out I know I will loose a lot of my enthusiasm. I won’t quit because the things I mentioned above scare me to death, but my enthusiasm will be gone.
