It's frankly, a good comparison - that is, if you're operating in bad faith and counting on the right-wing rubes who are so gullible in their acceptance of Trumpian horseshit.

Key connections re: Flynn, Pence, Kushner, Trump transition, and foreign policy...

Jared Kushner, obviously, is the architect of the “Deal of the Century” that is a gift to the Israeli Right under Trump-Kushner family friend Benjamin Netanyahu and giant middle finger to the Palestinians.

Mike Pence, for his part, is a fanatically pro-Israel fundamentalist far-right Christian and the embodiment of the Religious Right first-in-line to the Presidency.

Kushner and Ivanka were reportedly key in persuading Trump to pick Pence as his running mate. in 2016, in part because Trump was also considering Chris Christie - the man who put Jared’s father behind bars.

Nevertheless, Christie was put in charge of the transition team - but after Trump was President-elect, Christie was fired. Who replaced him? Kushner and Pence. Interesting.

We know that the transition was a period of intense ratfuckery by the incoming Trump administration of the last months of the Obama administration’s foreign policy, and that secret meetings with foreign officials were taking place. This was, after all, a big focus of the Mueller Report, and a big focus of the investigation of Michael Flynn.

We know that Flynn and others was talking to the Russians about things like, oh, lifting sanctions in exchange for not retaliating over the Obama administration’s actions in response to Russian intervention in the election on Trump’s behalf (my head hurts...), and that there was also attempts by incoming Trump officials (including Flynn) to delay or derail the UN Security Resolution (link below) criticizing Israel - since the Obama administration was not going to veto it.

Given the recurring related roles of Pence and Kushner, you have to wonder (or do you really) about the role of the Republican Party’s in general - - and Trump- Kushner family’s in particular - best friend in Israel:

If Trump is not the most clearly unfit President in US history, then I'm Barack Obama himself.

Treason: Check.

Bribery: Check.

Profiting off the Presidency: Check.

Abusing the Presidency for political gain: Check.

Not taking care that the laws be faithfully executed: Check.

Violating the Emoluments Clause: Check.

Violating the Oath of Office ( "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”): Check.

Demonstrating utter contempt for any check on or balance to his power/blatantly violating the separation of powers in the federal government: Check.

Using federal funds as a political weapon against “insubordinate” state governments: Check.

Obstructing and corrupting government and criminal investigations into himself and his administration: Check.

Demonstrating his rank incompetence as a decision-maker and almost certainly below-average cognitive function, well below that required for presidential duties: Check.

Demonstrating all kinds of deficits of character that are not just counterproductive in a public servant, but outright dangerous: Check, check, check.
