Watching The Strange Love of Martha Ivers

On TCM.

Today I learned Barbara Stanwyck was a very conservative Republican and a big Ayn Rand fan.

Kirk Douglas allegedly sexually assaulted 15-yr-old Natalie Wood when she met him alone in a hotel.

So much behind the Hollywood sets and scenes.

Having panic attacks

Got a letter from HR telling me I either return to work or resign after six months of being out. I am in the SSDI process, so will not be returning. Anything having to do with my job sends me into panic mode.

I was okayed by the long-term disability insurance company to receive monthly payments. I'm concerned that resignation will effect my LTD insurance payments and health insurance, which I'm paying fully now

I'm calling HR tomorrow. Just so worried, I didn't sleep last night. Trying to stay calm, but it's hard not to be anxious.

Thanks for reading. I really don't have anyone to vent to

11 years ago today I got laid off

From my good-paying dream job. One I worked so very hard to get. It still makes me angry and sad, but it hurts less this year than usual.

It was then my life started spiraling out of control.

Feeling claustrophobic

I'm off work on disability. I spend time at home. I'm a homebody, but I get anxious and feel a bit claustrophobic at times. My apt is about 900 sq feet.

Just wondering if anyone else ever feels this way. I don't have a garden, unfortunately

Ivermectin is the controversial drug pushed into the spotlight by US podcaster Joe Rogan with unverified claims it fights COVID-19.
A renowned American anti-vaxxer who contracted Covid-19 has revealed he is using beetroot to help “treat” his infection.

Right-wing cartoonist Ben Garrison, who achieved notoriety for his pro-Donald Trump artwork, believes he contracted the virus two weeks ago at a restaurant in the US state of Montana, Gizmodo reported.

Ivermectin has featured in several of his cartoons including one showing a horse kicking US infectious disease expert Dr Anthony Fauci
He told the publication that he felt “slightly better” after two weeks with the virus, but had lost his taste, smell and appetite, and dropped seven kilos.

Deaths linked to vaccines are extremely rare and people are far more likely to die from Covid-19 than a vaccine.

Mr Garrison built himself a reputation during the Trump administration for drawing the former leader with unrealistic, flattering features.

He was also banned from Twitter for expressing his support of the insurrection at the US Capitol on January 6.

She Bought Her Dream Home. Then a 'Sovereign Citizen' Changed the Locks.

The official-looking letters started arriving soon after Shanetta Little bought the cute Tudor house on Ivy Street in Newark. Bearing a golden seal, in aureate legalistic language, the documents claimed that an obscure 18th-century treaty gave the sender rights to claim her new house as his own.

She dismissed the letters as a hoax.

And so it was with surprise that Ms. Little found herself in her yard on Ivy Street on a June afternoon as a police SWAT team negotiated with a man who had broken in, changed her locks and hung a red and green flag in its window. He claimed he was a sovereign citizen of a country that does not exist and for whom United States laws do not apply.

Ms. Little was a victim of a ploy known as paper terrorism, a favorite tactic of an extremist group that is one of the fastest
growing, according to government experts

But the strange letters declaring that Ms. Little’s home is not her own still come. They arrive on faux-consular letterhead using the name Lenapehoking of the Al Moroccan Empire at New Jersey State Republic. Lenapehoking was the land between New York City and Philadelphia that includes New Jersey and was home to the Indigenous Lenape tribe before it was colonized by European settlers. Mr. John and his group refer to themselves as Moors.

“The Moors claim to be about Black liberation and opportunity, and uplifting Black people,” Ms. Little said in an interview seated on a staircase inside her house. “But he is literally oppressing me and taking what’s mine as a Black woman.”
