Trump's Mother-In-Law

Condolences to Melania and family. That said, has it been determined where Mrs. Knavs final resting place will be?

The victim of "chain migration," Melania's Mum deserves a prominent place on one of the Trump Properties, subject to the tax implications of the placement. Mar-a-Lago is the obvious choice, but there are others. And I understand Florida usuals are becoming tricky with rising sea levels and all....

I'd like my remains spread around Mar-a-Largo, but not be cremated. Who do I talk to to make it happen?

Hern's dream fizzles...

My personal Rep. in Congress (from Tulsa) was briefly fantasizing about being Speaker. Coming to grips, hopefully as a result of my saying mean things about him in the comments of the Tulsa World, he has withdrawn from consideration.

As being a congressman has been a side hustle for him, being speaker would cut into his active stock trading...

I'm thinking His feeding at the public trough--$2.7 million PPP forgiven, while bitching about Biden's student loan program, and voting for tax breaks that favored rich guys like himself, all the while complaining about deficits, was something folks beside me couldn't abide.

If he wants to stay relevant, I hear Trump will be looking for a new valet soon. I'll offer my endorsement.

My delegation's unqualified Academy Nominations...

On 8/21/23 Congressman Hern posted on FaceBook: “I hosted a great Service Academy Day at my Tulsa office for students who are interested in going to one of our five military academies…”

Like Hern, I am encouraged that some of Oklahoma’s best and brightest seek admission to these elite institutions. A calling to “support and defend the Constitution…” is most admirable.

The problem: Rep. Hern, together with Senators Lankford and Mullin, are tasked with making nominations to these honorable institutions but have forfeited their credibility to do so.

The academies have strict honor codes that replicate or strongly paraphrase the Honor Code of West Point: "A Cadet will not lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do."

The two Oklahoma Senators and my Congressman are insufficiently honorable to select students to attend the Academies.

Putting aside the fact that served in the Armed Forces, these politicians have LIED about the 2020 presidential election, in an attempt to CHEAT the winner of a free and fair election, to STEAL the American presidency for Trump. Even if their actions were interpreted as legitimate, can there be any doubt that they have TOLERATED the lying, cheating, and stealing, of Donald Trump.

Senators and Congressmen take a very similar oath to the Military. These men have disgraced their offices and should NOT be the ones to make academy nominations. Like Trump, they should be disqualified from even holding office as outlined in section 3 of 14th Amendment of the Constitution.

Hunter's gun charge...

Written to my Oklahoma senators as a comment in TulsaWorld:

Why haven't Senators Mullin and Lankford been rushing toward the microphones to defend Hunter Biden against the obviously bogus gun charge he has been so unfairly hit with. Who knew there was such a thing as a "felony crime of being a drug user in possession of a gun"? How can our senators think this is a problem as they no doubt they believe that there aren't enough guns around, domestic abusers should be armed, convicted felons should be armed and the age for owning firearms should be lowered?

Come on guys, help a brother out and speak out in Hunter Biden's defense! Don't you think he has a right to enter your offices with a military style AK-47 with extended clips as anybody else?

About the the Trump stench in downtown Tulsa yesterday...

My response to Sen. Mullin who invited the loser of the last presidential election leading up to the NCAA champship--posted as commentary in the Tulsa World:

Our Junior Senator Mullin commenting about the Trump situation as cited by the World (and I watched on TV) "Everybody sees this for what it is," Mullin said. "It's not what this country is about. We had an opportunity to get after Hilary, … and we didn't."
This is a flat-out no-holds-barred (a wrestling term) LIE. Republican "didn't get her", but not for lack of trying in a tremendous abuse of power. A catastrophe at Benghazi that killed an ambassador and three others that were friends of Clinton generated one of the longest congressional investigations in U.S. history. Republicans heard 255 witnesses, held 62 hours of hearings, 13 reports and compiled over 2,500 pages of information but also brought no charges. She testified personally for over 11 hours and answer every hostile Republican question.

When Trump came into office, a year-long investigation by the FBI began of her e-mails when she was secretary of state that ended with a report that “no reasonable prosecutor would bring charges.” This wasted more than of $20 million, according to the conservative online magazine American Thinker.

The abuse of the system, Senator, is a Trump thing. Lying, Senator Mullin (Mr. Term Limits) is your thing.

Tulsa wrestling with Trump and fanboy host Sen. Mullin.

Trains through Tulsa...

Letter to the editor, rejected by Tulsa World.

Setting aside the fact that the Palestine, Ohio train derailment seems to be centered around a train-specific initial cause, finger pointing quickly ensued. Let’s start our look at with rather big finger from a conservative publication: Fortune Magazine 9/24/2018: "Trains that carry oil and other flammable material won't have to install electronically controlled brakes that reduce the risk of train derailments and explosions after the reversal by Trump officials of an Obama-era safety rule."

While this accident is not specifically tied to infrastructure, this should be a reminder of our need to upgrade infrastructure across many fronts. Oklahoma’s train-wreck of a delegation has repeatedly voted against infrastructure bills in favor of skewed-toward the wealthy tax cuts for the corporations that rely on efficient bridges, roads, ports, the electrical grid, communication networks, etc. Of course, all of them have been quick to take credit in the capital improvement spending that does comes our way.

Perhaps a “thought experiment” might illustrate a need for safety upgrades: Imagination a train pulling tanker cars derails on the tracks going down the middle of the Broken Arrow Expressway in Midtown Tulsa, at say, 21st and Lewis Ave. Not only would a crash be dangerous to this densely populated area, it might even disrupt the seemingly monthly gun shows at the fairgrounds. Maybe the thought of this potential catastrophe will jar folks into thinking that upgrading safety might be a good thing.
