I miss John McCain

Hilary should have won in 2016, and I'll always be angry at Jim Comey and Jill Stein for their part in *rump's win, but I also wonder what the Republicans would be like if John McCain had not died, and were still serving in the Senate.

There is no telling where we could be, if either or both of these events had turned out differently. Certainly much better than we are.

The Tour de France

Yep, I'm going to WIN the Tour de France - and if I don't win, it will be because of FRAUD !!! I'm announcing this early, so be on the lookout for my win. Remember, the judges and rules committee cheat ALL the time!

Just a perspective

So, I just ran up on this in 538 live blog:

The fact that ballots are counted sequentially lends the process of vote counting important transparency. But it can also lead us to apply inappropriate mental frames. For instance, we may resort to horse-race language that suggests that Biden is pulling ahead at the last second, but in fact these votes were all cast on or before Election Day. The illusion of a dramatic horse race is simply a product of the order in which we count votes.
