Perhaps a lucid moment by Trump

I just Googled for any response by Trump relative to the Paul Pelosi attack and apparently he has not said anything. He's being criticized for his silence but if he did offer the usual 'thoughts and prayers' it would be hypocrisy, resulting in criticism and if he offered some typical Trump derogatory quip, he'd receive a greater degree of criticism.

"Better to remain silent and thought to be a fool than speak and remove all doubt."

I'm guessing someone told him best to keep his mouth shut.

Pelosi should initiate a class action lawsuit against...

..Trump on behalf of herself and all the Dems who have been injured or threatened with injury. Wonder if that would fly?

The attack on Paul Pelosi should convince...

..some of the sane 'undecided' which way to vote. Let's see how the Repugs deliver their 'thoughts and prayers' comments while maintaining the silent condonation of violence.

The biggest hoax (second to Trump)...

..is the "2000 Mules" movie, which proved nothing other than some number of cell phones were in the vicinity of some ballot drop boxes multiple times.

Trump (of course) said it confirmed 2020 election fraud.

Praised by former President Donald Trump as exposing “great election fraud,” the movie, called “2000 Mules," paints an ominous picture suggesting Democrat-aligned ballot “mules” were supposedly paid to illegally collect and drop off ballots in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

But that's based on faulty assumptions, anonymous accounts and improper analysis of cellphone location data, which is not precise enough to confirm that somebody deposited a ballot into a drop box, according to experts.

CLAIM: At least 2,000 “mules” were paid to illegally collect ballots and deliver them to drop boxes in key swing states ahead of the 2020 presidential election.

THE FACTS: True the Vote didn’t prove this. The finding is based on false assumptions about the precision of cellphone tracking data and the reasons that someone might drop off multiple ballots, according to experts.

CLAIM: In Philadelphia alone, True the Vote identified 1,155 “mules” who illegally collected and dropped off ballots for money.

THE FACTS: No, it didn’t. The group hasn’t offered any evidence of any sort of paid ballot harvesting scheme in Philadelphia. And True the Vote did not get surveillance footage of drop boxes in Philadelphia, so the group based this claim solely on cellphone location data, its researcher Gregg Phillips said in March in testimony to Pennsylvania state senators.

I make the post only because the movie claims have been regurgitated to cast doubt on the 2022 election. Election denier candidates are already crying foul before all the votes have been cast or counted.

Republican control of the House will be a shit-show

Particularly if the majority is a narrow one, the MAGA Squad will have ample leverage—and McCarthy has been acting like he knows it. For a time, McCarthy made a feeble effort to rein in his party’s nut jobs and conspiracy theorists.

That pretty much defines what to expect...the Wacko Squad will run the House.

Oz: abortion should be decided between women, doctors and...

..local political leaders. WTF? I wonder if he realizes how stupid the comment sounds?

The Republicans have bitched about 'freedom' to not wear a mask, not social distance, not vaccinate, not pass stricter gun laws, all of which led to unnecessary deaths... Freedom to do what they want to do is OK but freedom for the rest of us in the majority, to do what we want to do is unacceptable.

They decide what laws they want, to suit their minority positions and we have to accept it. WTF?

Can one of the legal minds here enlighten me...

..on Presidential Executive Privilege? Does a judge somewhere have to decide when the circumstances are such that the privilege would or would not apply?

I have had the impression it could not be invoked to protect a twice impeached former president or anyone who might have colluded with him to stage a coup; but the topic continues to surface in various discussions.

Early voting numbers set a new record for midterm elections...

..12,000,000+.

Anyone speculating whether it's good or bad for Team Blue?

So, let the AZ Trump-cult-voter-intimidating-cowards-and-fools watch the ballot boxes.

Then, when Lake looses, she can't blame it on ballot box stuffing.

It's NOT the messaging

The pundits keep saying Democrats are struggling in the polls because they can't get the 'messaging' right. I would argue many of the people being polled are uninformed of the overall political situation. They only know the cost of gas and groceries is high and whatever the next door ever-Trumper, Facebook or Fox tells them.

Every time they fill the tank or replenish the pantry, they cuss Biden and the Democrats for inflation. Biden and Democrats in general are telling them how the future benefits of new legislation will make their lives better but they will vote their gut emotions on November 8.

You can't make a successful 'message' against ignorance.
