Septua's JournalMissing the point...
I switched to Fox channel this morning for few minutes to see what, if anything, was being discussed relative to assigning a 'special master' to view the recovered Mar-a-Lago documents. SD governor Kristi Noem was rambling on about the need for 'transparency' because of 'the lack of trust in the DOJ.' "We need to know what was in the documents."
No governor, what we need to know is why Trump had the documents in the first place, what he planned to do with the information in the documents and what if anything, he's already done with the information in the documents.
The DOJ's honor is not what's in question here.
Trump really is f'n nutzo...
DAILYBEAST headline:
Trump Demands Either New Election Immediately or Make Him Rightful President Now
The twice-impeached ex-president, though, did propose a minimal solution if he is not returned to the White House right away: Declare the 2020 vote irreparably compromised and hold a new one immediately.
This hasn't received enough reporting... He has regurgitated Hunter's laptop and decided it was the single factor resulting in his election loss.
He continued: This is massive FRAUD & ELECTION INTERFERENCE at a level never seen before in our Country. REMEDY: Declare the rightful winner or, and this would be the minimal solution, declare the 2020 Election irreparably compromised and have a new Election, immediately!
He talks like he's still president, "demanding" actions that can only be described as ludicrous.

Unprecedented actions demand unprecedented transparency
Yeah MoFo' and unprecedented crimes committed by a former President necessarily lead to unprecedented actions.

Karl Rove: "A Trump indictment would tear the country apart."
You'll have to take my word on this. He said it on "Fox News Sunday".
As I have said before, the fucking country is already torn apart and it's because of Trump and Trump supporters like Rove whose only agenda is stopping Biden.
He also said Biden hasn't kept his promise to bring the country together, in regards to some of Biden's recent comments criticizing the MAGA bunch by name...pure hypocrisy. He didn't mention all the derogatory, name calling comments against the Democrats that show up on Twitter and Fox on a daily basis, by the likes of MTG and Boebert.
In case you missed it. Hilarious mockery of Trump

The legal analysts on MSNBC continue to frustrate us non-legal members of the country relative to the deferential treatment Trump is receiving from the DOJ, in general.
And the "precedent" thing continues to come up. Just heard a long evaluation from Danny Cevallos saying no matter what Garland has said about 'following the facts and holding people accountable' he will at some point consider the potential ramifications of charging a former President.
Trump created a Presidential 'precedent' when he took office. He violated virtually every precedent and canon that had existed for decades. He abused his power and debased the Office. He tried to invalidate the 2020 election, failed at that attempt, then tried to obstruct the Peaceful Transfer of Power. He was, is and continues to be a clear and present danger to the Country and the Constitution. Steve Schmidt says he is "one of the most dangerous Americans in history." He has done and will do, anything to remain in power, regardless the cost to the country, its people or democracy. He represents the nth degree of narcissism and should not be allowed to hold an office of authority at any level of government.
50 years ago, when the US Senate had more honorable members than opportunists, Trump would have been convicted in one of the impeachments, maybe the first, certainly the second. But those days are gone. The only way to shut him down now is via the courts. And, Trump won't be the end of the threat. More will follow and need to know accountability will be enforced.
Charging a former President with a crime will set a precedent. But it's time to set one.
Biden is finally throwing the hard balls.
https://www.newsweek.com/joe-biden-speech-maga-midterms-maryland-1737226Speaking to the crowd in Rockville, Maryland, Biden frequently mentioned his predecessor Donald Trump and his MAGA loyalists while suggesting that voters must decide in November whether they want a country that "moves forward or backward."
Biden added that he believes the U.S. is at an "inflection point," which occurs every few generations, and voters must now decide which direction they want to go in. "Will we build a future or obsess over the past? Will we be a nation of unity, of hope, of optimism? Not a nation of anger, violence, hatred and division," Biden said.
The challenge to democracy
First, the vitality of any democracy depends on the ability of democratic institutions to keep pace with changing times. But in the last quarter century, important democratic institutions like the Senate, the Electoral College and the Supreme Court have not kept up with changes in our culture and the electorate. That failure has resulted in a structural imbalance in national politics.
Second, a vibrant democracy must be a nation of laws, not of men. Weve had unscrupulous politicians throughout our history, but until now weve always been able to stop the rise of cunning, ambitious, unprincipled men who, George Washington warned in his farewell address, would usurp for themselves the reins of government. Trump, his cronies, and, to a lesser extent, Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell have shown themselves to be the kind of men Washington warned us about.
