TALLAHASSEE, FL—With its legislature passing a resolution that cited the rich and significant history of the reproductive organ, Florida named the penis its official state genital on Wednesday. “It fills me with great pleasure to sign this legislation recognizing the profound influence of the human penis on the Sunshine State,” said Gov. Ron DeSantis, who explained that along with including the penis in an updated state seal, the reproductive organ would be granted protected status and a fine would be levied against anyone who disrespected its public display. “The penis is as Florida as Florida gets. It has always thrived here, and as long I’m in the governor’s mansion, I promise our state will always be full of pricks.” To ensure the genital’s preservation, the legislature also set aside funds to purchase 500,000 acres of land and establish a refuge where all the huge fucking dicks can hang out.

In Proclamation 10467 of October 6, 2022 (Granting Pardon for the Offense of Simple Possession of Marijuana), I exercised my authority under the Constitution to pardon individuals who committed or were convicted of the offense of simple possession of marijuana in violation of the Controlled Substances Act and section 48–904.01(d)(1) of the Code of the District of Columbia (D.C. Code). As I have said before, convictions for simple possession of marijuana have imposed needless barriers to employment, housing, and educational opportunities. Through this proclamation, consistent with the grant of Proclamation 10467, I am pardoning additional individuals who may continue to experience the unnecessary collateral consequences of a conviction for simple possession of marijuana, attempted simple possession of marijuana, or use of marijuana. Therefore, acting pursuant to the grant of authority in Article II, Section 2, of the Constitution of the United States, I, Joseph R. Biden Jr., do hereby grant a full, complete, and unconditional pardon to all current United States citizens and lawful permanent residents who, on or before the date of this proclamation, committed or were convicted of the offense of simple possession of marijuana, attempted simple possession of marijuana, or use of marijuana, regardless of whether they have been charged with or prosecuted for these offenses on or before the date of this proclamation...

Tuesday’s appeal hearing before the high court mirrored the trio’s original request: that the three have protectable interests — their years of anti-abortion work — and that the state wasn’t presenting enough evidence to counter plaintiffs in the case. Arguing for the three parties, attorney Tim Garrison noted that the high court had already denied taking up a case involving Wyoming’s 2022 “trigger” abortion ban last December based on the “limited factual record provided.” Potential intervenors could add to that record to avoid similar court denials in the future, he said.
Justice Keith Kautz suggested Garrison was “reading into” the court’s denial more than he should, and that the justices never said there needed to be an evidentiary trial.
Justice Lynne Boomgaarden also questioned whether it may be too soon for the proposed intervenors to argue this case because the district court hasn’t decided whether the matter will go to trial.

Human hearts! That is the problem! In America, we are uniquely badly positioned because of our human hearts. Why don’t we have stone hearts like the French; or efficient, wood-burning hearts like the Germans; or the Teflon hearts that I hear Elon Musk will soon be pioneering to an elite crowd of subscribers? (I, for one, cannot wait! Anything to divert his attention from X!) Why don’t we have alien hearts with extra ventricles, splendidly green and impervious to pain; or efficient, 3D-printed e-hearts; or anatomically inaccurate paper hearts? So many better kinds of hearts to have! It isn’t the guns. The problem is the human heart. Week, feeble, pitiful heart. Put it up against a gun, and it loses every time.
