Manchin or Murkowski?

She always seemed to have a much better moral compass than Joe.

Any Alaska DUers able to provide insight?

It seems if we need to negotiate with Republicans we should at least work with the ones who have the moral fortitude to begin with honestly identifying themselves.

Manchin - Defending the indefensible

Like the proverbial "turd in the punch bowl" Manchin showed exactly who he is.

It was obvious all along he was negotiating in bad faith. Once he got his infrastructure bill it was done. Many defended him, not worth going into the same old stories. Many also criticized the squad/progressives, not sure of the logic of criticism around legislatures fighting for beliefs but I have seen many posts claiming AOC, the squad, progressives need to learn from Manchin, he is a winner!

To add insult to injury, he runs to Fox News to take his hit on Biden and Democrats. Again he got what he wanted, the safest spot for him to cover up his bad faith negotiations, "see all the people support me! they are the real Americans."

Today there won't be too much blow back supporting Manchin. Like Republicans on Jan 6/7, the shock is too new, peoples basic morals kick in, but it didn't take long for Republicans to flip back, to gather some talking points, and bask in the warmth of group think.

The same will happen with Manchin, defenders feeling a bit of shock today, hard to defend the indefensible. but tomorrow they will wade back in and by the end of the week for some, it will be back to AOC/the squad/progressives, need to learn from Manchin.

Now, if I ever see AOC "learn from Manchin" then I will criticize her. Negotiating in bad faith, disrupting your own parties agenda, running to the enemy to drop your turd is not defensible for anyone.
