As we all know by now (or at least MOST of us), the Capitol Insurrection and attempted overthrow of the 2020 Election and by fiat, DEMOCRACY ITSELF, was NOT some spur of the moment, spontaneous development arising within some loosely associated MOB of sore losers who independently determined to enforce THEIR will upon the American populace,
but was a carefully coordinated and well planned orchestration headed up by Trump himself, his staff, attorneys and associates, his inner circle of sycophants and sympathizers, and involving not only various groups of organized DOMESTIC TERRORISTS, seeking to "hang" the Vice President,
but joined by various state and national GOP lawmakers and entities in a SCHEME to get the results thrown out, or altered via a multi-state PLOT to supplant state electors with FAKE ones.
It involved nothing less than a group of co-conspirators in POLITICAL ANARCHY - including the 147 in CONGRESS who voted NOT to certify PRESIDENT Biden's lawful election.
And the fact that Donald Trump is STILL promoting this anarchy, STILL lying about the election, STILL inciting violence and THREATS of further violence, and still PROMISING to pardon those who participated in this unlawful ATTEMPTED COUP, only demonstrates that his INSURRECTION CONTINUES TO THIS DAY:

Donald Trump, his MAGA people and the larger Republican fascist movement will use these remaining months before Election Day to continue to assault and undermine reality, the facts, the truth, democracy, and the rule of law with the goal of mobilizing their voters while simultaneously demobilizing and confusing those Americans who would potentially vote for Biden.
As an institution [the American mainstream news media] must commit itself to the principles of the Fourth Estate as the “guardians of democracy." In practice, this means consistently speaking truth to power, and educating and informing the public about what Trumpism and the end of democracy will mean for their day-to-day lives and futures. [and] must also reject “horserace” coverage, “bothsidesism”, and false “fairness” and “balance”, what are collectively obsolete norms that treat Trumpism and neofascism and other antidemocratic practices and beliefs as being merely “polarization” or “partisanship” instead of as anathema to real democracy and a good society.
Writing at the American Prospect, Rick Perlstein deftly summarizes the perilous convergence of these forces and the system-breaking challenge that awaits American democracy in 2024 as, “The triangle represents the three forces that have succeeded in getting America within spitting distance of losing its democracy: Republican authoritarianism, Democratic timorousness, and media incompetence.”

According to the News, both Chesebro and Eastman sought to get fake elector letters to then-Vice President Mike Pence in advance of Congress' scheduled certification of the Electoral College count on January 6, 2021.
A key component of that strategy was to have the fake elector documents submitted in the names of various state Republican Party officials to make the effort look organic.

For my part, I chucked political commentary for a couple of weeks, during which, among the usual news of MAGA intimidation and threats of war (if they aren't allowed to succeed in ENDING DEMOCRACY),
and the usual msm silence on the successes of Biden's administration (December jobs report: US economy adds 216,000 jobs, shocking Wall Street, you say?) I managed to find several more amusing gems of interest:
