"Ironic twist": Jack Smith letter signals Trump could be charged with "trying to rig the election"

Trump? Trying the rig the election? Say it isn't so:

Special counsel Jack Smith's letter informing former President Donald Trump that he is the target of the Justice Department's Jan. 6 investigation signaled that he could be charged with a civil rights law that dates back to the post-Civil War Reconstruction era, three sources told The New York Times.

The letter cited three criminal statutes, including conspiracy to defraud the government and obstruction of an official proceeding, which were both included in the criminal referral from the House Jan. 6 committee. But the third law cited in the letter "was a surprise," according to the Times.

Trump's plan if elected in 2024 should frighten us all.

Y'know, I've been writing and warning of what a Donald Trump occupancy of the Oval Office would portend for quite some time now. Long before coming here, and even before he slipped into the Oval Office via America's jerry-rigged presidential election process aka the Electoral College.

And when he repeatedly quipped "eight more years" and spoke of how great Xi Jinping's "president for life" status was, it was clear to me (and I'd suspect many others) what his own aspirations were and are STILL. Fact is, he began the process of consolidating his power and achieving those ends from the very start, through various efforts at undermining government and the balance of power.

So it should come as NO surprise to any of us as to his intent to CONTINUE his quest for ABSOLUTE power to do, as he put it himself, whatever the fk he WANTS.

Is America on the brink of tyranny? Trump's plan if elected in 2024 should frighten us all.

The New York Times published an article Monday that's bone-chilling for anyone who cherishes our freedom, democracy and constitutional governance. The story recounted, with full cooperation of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, his plans to eliminate executive branch constraints on his power if he is elected president in 2024.

The obstacles to be eliminated include an independent Justice Department, independent leadership in administrative agencies and an independent civil service.

Calls grow for arrest of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas's wife

After 16 Republicans were charged over the "false elector" conspiracy, there have been mounting calls for officials to investigate Virginia "Ginni" Thomas for allegedly attempting to rig the 2020 election result. Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced on Tuesday, July 18 that the 16 individuals were each charged with eight felonies for allegedly trying to thwart the will of voters in the 2020 presidential election.

At that time, Thomas allegedly sent text messages to Mark Meadows, the former chief of staff for Donald Trump, encouraging him to work to overturn Biden’s victory and keep Trump in office. Additionally, she was also accused of sending emails to several lawmakers and Arizona election officials, arguing that it was their "constitutional duty" to pick a "clean slate" of electors who would be willing to proclaim Trump the winner in the Grand Canyon State in 2020.
