His coverage of Al Gore's presidential campaign helped put GW Bush in the White House. His clearly articulated sexist outlook concerning HRC began in the 1990's and continued through 2017.

The Daily Howler (Bob Somerby, liberal watchdog of the "liberal" media) has been documenting the damage that Matthews has done for the last 20 years. Here's one of his columns from 2014.
