I'm an inveterate journal writer. If my experiences and impressions could make it back into the current of human history, I'd feel I was making a valid contribution with my sacrifice. On the other hand, if I were to never be heard from again, it makes me think of a tree falling in a forest that's never heard by anyone. Whew. Weighty question.
