ARs and handguns scattered all over the house, within easy reach of the kids, for “protection.”

There are 3000 people in his town; my in-laws collectively know every single one of them. There hasn’t been a murder since the Carter administration. But he needs to be able to access an AR15 within three seconds from anywhere in home.
