Guy they like says X: They repeat it, defend it, treat it as gospel, rationalize it, etc.

Guy they don't like says the same thing: That person is the antichrist.

Case in point: Both Reagan and Obama called the holocaust "senseless". Three guesses who was called callous and ignorant of history.
