a woman president, though I hope not our first one.

How cool would that be, though?--a bisexual, Latinx woman as president? Breaking through all sorts of obstacles all at the same time.

Even if we have had a woman president, an openly LGTBT president, or a Latinx by then, those barriers will undoubtedly still be in place and hard to surmount.

Even after Pres. Obama--and to a large degree because of the racist backlash against him--it still will be hard for a POC to become president, even one as accomplished and charismatic as Cory Booker. A female POC would have even a harder time, even one as accomplished and charismatic as Kamala Harris.

I think electing an LGQBT president will be hard, too--harder even than electing a woman or a POC--of a woman POC. We will need someone with Emma's power and presence to accomplish that feat.

What I, an agnostic, would really like to see before I die, too, is an openly atheist president.
