(81,110 posts)Sadly, your description of that "both sides! Both sides!" baloney is spot-on. I swear I almost expect members of the Flat Earth Society to gain invitations to join the panels of talking heads next time we have a NASA mission. RIDICULOUS!
It tore me up. The pile-on against Hillary was almost obscene as well. "...but her emails..." over and over and over and over and over. And it all turned out to be a whole lot of nothing. Meanwhile trump was consistently portrayed as some harmless buffoon to be laughed at and not taken seriously enough to bother digging into his background the way they did to both Clintons. All she ever did was try to be a dedicated and effective public servant. And look at the thanks she got. I half expect that at her funeral, the same hypocritical jackals who couldn't wait to find fault with her every hair out of place will intone, somberly, about what an amazing and globally admired historical figure she was. And they'll all insist they admired her too - and always had. I've never been able to watch Andrea Mitchell the way I once did - back when I believed her work was respectable.
And it's not just that.
Every time I hear Chris Matthews make some remark about how we all were against the Iraq War - ESPECIALLY him, I can't forget his shameless drooling over dubya's stuffed flight-suit prance around that aircraft carrier on "Mission Accomplished" Day: "we're all neocons now!"
