In reply to the discussion: In case you were wondering, Cenk is still trash [View all]JCanete

or hypocritical in their characterization of democrats and even republicans, but I always cringe when he goes in on Clinton like this. It isn't fair and it isn't mindful of the challenges that she faced as a candidate that were entirely outside of her control, nor mindful of the political terrain she had to navigate getting into the Senate in the late 90's, followed by a post 9/11 conservative media(all of it) zealotry that had no strong social media counterbalance...and even MSNBC was an entirely different beast. I mean I could accept his assessment if he were gentler with that explanation. Maybe it was a little arrogant to run given just how much baggage she was carrying as a result of being public enemy number one for the GOP over the years, but I only see that in retrospect(since I was 100 percent convinced that she had this wrapped up myself). Besides, you have to have that kind of confidence to run regardless of who you are.
I do think many other candidates could have beaten Trump, though I'm not actually sure Sanders could have because Cenk is forgetting just how loathed left-wing progressives actually are by the media(yes I know Sanders is a bit of a ratings darling at the moment-post election), not to mention how luke-warm I feel the reception would have been by the DNC leadership given that for the most part they found Sanders to be antagonistic to what they believe is the way to govern, which would arguably make Sanders a threat, whether you wanted to characterize that as to the status quo or to our own party's political sucesss going forward.
But yes, while obviously I don't think he's trash, I don't find this kind of rhetoric or calling Clinton a horrible candidate helpful, since I find that statement equally untrue.

Is he still being funded by Republicans? Isn't he associated with Russian media or something?
