Because BULLSHIT. There was NO good or rational or moral or ethical reason WHATSOEVER not to do so. But by Jove they found a “justification” anyway.

Hope they’re proud of themselves.

If ever I encountered one of them, my only comment would be a question: “happy NOW?”
