it often turns out to be spam. The mailbox will often be set not to accept messages. I would assume that this can be done with pretty much any phone unless someone is still using a 1980's vintage answering machine.

Not in any way knocking your message, but I find it difficult to believe some of these GOP types even take calls from constituents any more. We see them setting up offices on private property so that they can use the police to run off protesters like Issa does regularly, or like Dean Heller has done in the past here in Nevada.
