6. Why don't they step in?

I think there are many reasons.

He has gutted the EPA and many other agencies. His tax scam is something conservative dreams are made of. He is dramatically increasing race tensions. He is attempting to pull out of the Paris Climate Accord and is showing blatant disrespect for all positive world bodies. The people around him know, that while saying these things in public isn't to savory, that men at a higher rate than one might think sit around talking about the looks of women all of the time.

Trump says and does things that many rank and file Republicans think.
