(9,768 posts)To include a few Bernie or bust fans (think baked-in Susan Sarandon mentality) and even more leaning-Hillary types but not overly enthused with either candidate. In one instance, a relative of my wife actually preferred Hillary to Trump, but actually voted for the S.O.B so that shoo-in Hillary would win but by a smaller vote margin (and hey, that's exactly what happened). That one still burns me up. HRC actually got fewer votes than Obama did 4 years earlier. Some, but not all of that difference can be attributed to votes for Trump. I'm a forward thinking individual, and as such would like to believe that one of the edges that Democrats have in the upcoming midterm is full realization that every vote is important. That realization was certainly present in 2016, but not universally so. Hopefully the "midterm mentality" that has plagued Democrats over the years, to the benefit of the GOP who tend to show up, is a thing of the past.
