In high school I had a closet of hand me downs, but I made them my own with accessories. As a retiree in a casual beachside community I no longer have much occasion to dress up, but several years ago I decided I really wanted a red wool coat for travel to colder climes, so I kept my eye out for a couple of seasons until I found the one I wanted at Macy's at a deep discount. Nice lines, and it will never go out of style.
I don't bother even walking in to stores where ladies of Nancy Pelosi's means are able to shop, nor do I envy those who do, but anyone can develop an eye for what looks eye-catching and fashionable on them without blowing the entire family budget.
