and Carlyle Group, Bechtel is one of the most notorious of the large US-based, politically-connected privately-owned international construction, pipeline, nuclear and mining companies. The book "Economic Hit Man" could have been written about how it operates. Someone really should write the definitive Bechtel book, but until that happens, there's these for your consideration:
