(5,106 posts)who publicly bragged that his priority as a U.S. senator was to limit President Obama to one term. Is sabotaging the POTUS what we elect our congress-people to do ? I used to live in eastern Kentucky, unfortunately prior to being able to vote against Mitch. Things were just beginning to swing right at that time. Not really a surprise. Same with W. Va., whose voters used to revere Bobby Kennedy and Jay Rockefeller. They then became "Trump country?" The Democrats have a lot of ground to make in the "upper" South. Hillary truly had plans to revitalize the area that used to be coal country. She just handled it in a very wrong way. (Check her website was mainly IT). Meanwhile Trump lied about "pie in the sky" reopening the mines and steel mills. No one (including in my native PA) was dumb enough to really believe him , but wanted to try the optimism, I guess. What else was really working?
