And Trump is no Richard Nixon.

He is worse, and could really give a shit about what is good for the country (like you said). He is also arrogant and stupid enough to think his base will pull him through, and could give a rats ass about the rest of the party.

Now, if he can figure out how to tie his resignation to some type of immunity from prosecution or losing any of his money, then he might haul ass.
