It did not, Venezuela, Venezuela did it for him. Julian Assange is indirectly blackmailing Venezuela who is behind Ecuador's asylum grant to Assange so that way all those emails do not go on sale, but because Venezuela can't do it directly it uses and pressures the smaller Ecuador who's president Correa owes a lot of political favors to Venezuela's president Chavez
