Another thing i would add is that we haven’t seen the worst of it yet. Massive automation will funnel even more money upwards and the average person will be screwed.

If we don’t get power back then people may wind up with a stipend sufficient to survive but with strings attached that make it impossible to fight for more.

People living paycheck to paycheck already find it hard or impossible to strike or organize to improve their situation. That only will get worse if automation creates a permanently under or unemployed population.
