Making a video illegal is the very definition of censorship. That doesn't mean making the video illegal is bad or even unconstitutional; we already have exceptions to the First Amendment for things like kiddie porn and military secrets. Those laws are censorship. Some of them exist for good reason. Some of them exist to protect lies. The problem with censorship is we're not always sure which, and the fact that some censorship is nominally good does not erase that problem.
FWIW I have neither sought out nor seen the Christchurch video. But when Facebook is having to remove a thing 1.5 million times to keep it hidden, maybe keeping it hidden is not a reasonable goal.
