(25,684 posts)But I think that one reason that guns and gun deaths are so blithely accepted in this country is that people think that it's neat and tidy, like they see in a movie or on TV. It's not. It's brutal and horrifying.
Again, no one has to watch it, but maybe if more people saw what actually happens, they'd think twice about saying bullshit like "Guns make us safer" or "I'm a responsible gun owner" or "It's only a small minority."
And, isn't it just odd that countries with stronger gun control laws don't have this problem? And that New Zealand is going to take steps to make sure this doesn't happen again.
Meanwhile, how many people die from guns every year in this country? How many mass shootings do we have regularly?
Right, guns make us safer.
