unexplained reason tried become a truck driver. They assigned him to driving logging trucks over narrow, winding roads in the mountains separating the LA basin from the desert, and he was terrified because he was nowhere near skilled enough for that kind of thing, forget being able to tear along fast enough to make a modest income at it.
