But I don't think he would run on his own initiative. I haven't asked him directly, and wouldn't. Too hypothetical at this point, anyway. But IF the opening occurs, and IF he is selected to fill it....well THAT is something he might not turn down, and could be something he might follow up with. It would depend on the reception he got from his fellow Democratic Senators, but I'm betting that most of them would be glad to have him back, Gillibrand excepted.
