7. I don't happen to know the song, but I've been saying for some time now

that we should confiscate guns. I am heartily sick of all the excuses given not to do so. We're told that guns make you safer. Yeah, that mom whose 9 year old son shot her today was a whole lot safer because of the shotgun in the house.

Not to mention the mom whose 3 year old took a gun out of her purse and shot himself was definitely safer with that gun. Oh, and how about the 2 year old who found the gun in his mom's purse when they were out shopping and shot her. Yeah, definitely safer.

And where are all the good guys with the guns the gun apologists say are the answer? The closest we have to that is Kendrick Castillo who threw himself on the shooter yesterday in Colorado. He's dead. He'd still be alive if it weren't for the gun. All of you who think guns are the answer need to ponder that.

I am so fucking sick and tired of all the excuses for guns in this country. Meanwhile, other countries take real steps to take guns away after recent gun murders and you know what? It works. There haven't been additional mass murders with guns. Isn't that just a bit of a coincidence?

We are NOT safer with guns. We are vastly less safe.
