Thanks for sharing. I would also like to point out that some people prefer animals to people for some of the same reasons. Such folks insist that animals are more loyal and won't betray you. However, they don't question whether they, themselves, are always loyal or have never betrayed anyone.

Since animals don't express political opinions or disagree with one's beliefs, it is easier to love them. . . At least, that's the point that I would have liked to make to my ex-husband, when he stressed how much nicer the dog was than me.
