Trump just tried to argue that accusing his fans of being racist is a hate crime [View all]

President Trump’s paranoia and narcissism give him an extraordinary ability to portray himself and his followers as the victims as he attacks his perceived enemies and any target that will help shore up his political support among his base, so many of which have been accurately portrayed as “deplorables” by those who oppose the prejudice, fear, and hatred that the president regularly preaches.

Trump’s victimhood was on full display today as he tweeted —apropos of nothing in particular — his grievances about the case of Jussie Smollett, the actor on Fox‘s Empire TV show whose bizarre tale of a racially-based assault was quickly refuted by police as being a staged publicity stunt but had the felony charges against him of filing a false police report dropped suddenly and inexplicably shortly thereafter.

In addition to great incompetence and corruption, The Smollett case in Chicago is also about a Hate Crime. Remember, “MAGA COUNTRY DID IT!” That turned out to be a total lie, had nothing to do with “MAGA COUNTRY.” Serious stuff, and not even an apology to millions of people!
