I don't have personal knowledge of this incident, but I do know Oberlin College, the town-gown dynamics, the Gibson family (both from their business at Oberlin and family businesses elsewhere). Based on my personal knowledge of the dynamics (and passing knowledge of this incident), this incident is almost certainly a combination of arrogant college students - and - racial profiling.
