claimed it was a useless waste of time.

You may not like the network's editorial choice, but not showing this one hearing live in the middle of the day is hardly proof of the "networks' normalization of Trump and the dumbing down of political discourse."

Frankly, it just seems that some people simply want to complain, no matter what.
