4. We don't know and I don't care how most historians view us

They aren't us, we aren't them. My entire view of history and politics has changed, and I can pinpoint almost to the day it changed. It was around October 2015, when it started to become clear Trump wasn't sinking in the polls as so many expected.

I do know quite a bit of history. And I knew what his rise meant, even if he lost in 2016. And now I know what it's like to be them, why they made the choices they made, why they couldn't change course even if they saw what was coming. God have mercy on us.
